RULE:

6M-4.400

Required Parent Co-payment

PURPOSE:

The rule is being amended to comply with updated federal and statutory requirements for parent copayments and copayment waivers, make technical changes, and simplify copayment assessment procedures.

SUMMARY:

The proposed rule requires early learning coalitions to implement a sliding fee scale for the School Readiness program that is established by the Department of Education and limits parent copayments for 
School Readiness to no more than 7% of a family’s income. The rule also requires coalitions to submit their copayment waiver policies to the Department and to post those policies and their sliding fee scale.
