The Jacksonville Transportation Authority announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.
DATE AND TIME: Thursday, November 3, 2011, 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
PLACE: Gateway Shopping Center, 5258-12 Norwood Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32208
GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: To launch the starting phase of the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) North Corridor engineering design and construction phase. The project, expected to be completed by 2013/2014 will provide enhanced transit service throughout the corridor which extends north from downtown Jacksonville generally along Broad Street, Jefferson, Boulevard Street, Golfair Blvd. and 44th Street to the Gateway Mall, continuing north along Norwood Avenue/Lem Turner Road, ending south of the I-295/Lem Turner Interchange.
System features will include enhanced branded bus shelters with schedule information, traffic signal priority (TSP) intersection technologies, sidewalks and other improvements.
The meeting will be conducted as an open house. There will be a continuous looped slide show and other informational materials available for review. Citizens are invited to view the materials, discuss the project with staff and provide comments.
