NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Office of Insurance Regulation has issued an order disposing of the petition for declaratory statement filed by CIGNA Health and Life Insurance Company, Connecticut General Life Insurance Company, and CIGNA Healthcare of Florida, Inc. on September 20, 2011. The following is a summary of the agency's disposition of the petition:
The Office determined that the Petitioners are not required under Section 627.6575, 627.641 or 641.31, Florida Statutes, to provide coverage for a newborn when one if its insureds, certificateholders, or subscribers has specifically requested that the newborn not be added to the CIGNA insurance policy or HMO contract.
