GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: This is a public workshop regarding the proposed revision of Rule 68A-27.005, F.A.C, which defines certain characteristics of gopher tortoise burrows, in conformance with existing FWC rules prohibiting the take of the nests, homes, or dens of listed species. The purpose and intent of this proposed rule is to clarify the current prohibition against the take of a gopher tortoise burrows by providing characteristics that define and support the identification of a burrow in the field.
