NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on June 06, 2006 the Bureau of Elevator Safety, received a petition for Variance from Rules 2.1.3.1, 2.7.6, 2.18.5, 2.24.2.1, 2.24.2.2, and 2.20.1, A.S.M.E. 17.1, 2000 edition, as adopted by Chapter 3001.2, 2004 Florida Building Code, requiring access to the overspeed governor from outside the hoistway, a machine room, a minimum 3/8 inch governor rope, metallic sheaves and steel ropes with sheaves 40 times the diameter of the rope. The petition was received from Lee Rigby of Vertical Assessments, requesting a variance to allow the installation of an ISIS™ elevator system in the following location: Progress Energy Headquarters Parking Garage, St. Petersburg (Petition VW 2006-154).

The Bureau of Elevator Safety will accept comments concerning the Petition for 14 days from the date of publication of this notice. To be considered, comments must be received on or before 5:00 p.m.
