NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT Electrical Contractors’ Licensing Board has received the petition for declaratory statement from Florida Workers’ Compensation Joint Underwriting Association, Inc.The petition seeks the agency's opinion as to the applicability of Section 489.516(2), F.S., as it applies to the petitioner.
The Electrical Contractors’ Licensing Board hereby gives notice that on August 21, 2007, it received a Petition for Declaratory Statement filed by Florida Workers’ Compensation Joint Underwriting Association, Inc. The petition seeks the Board’s interpretation of Section 489.516(2), F.S., as it applies to the employment practices of its policy holders who are Florida licensed electrical contractors. To resolve a question concerning employment practices by certain Florida licensed electrical contractors, who are policy-holders of the Petitioner, and whose employment practices present potential liability for the Petitioner, the Petitioner is requesting that the Board issue a Declaratory Statement as to whether the above cited statute requires workers performing work for a Florida licensed electrical contractors to be employees of that Florida licensed electrical contractor.
