The Bureau of Beaches and Coastal Systems announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: This is a meeting of a workgroup established in accordance with House Bill 5001 of the General Appropriations Act, 2008 Legislative Session, designed to review the effectiveness of Florida’s statewide beach management program. Specifically, the workgroup will review the Joint Coastal Permitting and Beach Management Funding programs and make recommendations regarding program improvements and possible changes to Florida law and related rules. The group’s recommendations will be given to the President of the Florida Senate, the Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives and the Executive Office of the Governor by January 15, 2009. Members of the public may attend the meeting and will have an opportunity to speak at the end of the meeting.
