NOTICE OF LAND USE AND CERTIFICATION HEARINGS FOR POWER PLANT SITE CERTIFICATION
The Department of Environmental Protection announces a public hearing of the Governor and Cabinet, sitting as the Power Plant Siting Board, to consider the Administrative Law Judge’s Recommended Orders in the case of Hillsborough County’s proposed construction and operation of a new 600 tons per day mass burn boiler and a 17 MW, steam turbine, electric power generation unit at the County’s existing resource recovery facility (RRF) site. PURPOSE: The Governor and Cabinet, sitting as the Power Plant Siting Board, will consider an Order, to be executed by the Siting Board, pursuant to the Florida Electrical Power Plant Siting Act, Section 403.501, et seq., Florida Statutes, concerning the Recommended Order dated August 2, 2006, from the Administrative Law Judge, recommending that the project and its site be found consistent with and in compliance with Hillsborough County’s local land use plans and zoning ordinances. The Governor and Cabinet, sitting as the Power Plant Siting Board, will also consider an Order, to be executed by the Siting Board, pursuant to the Florida Electrical Power Plant Siting Act, Section 403.501, et seq., Florida Statutes, concerning the Recommended Order dated August 2, 2006, from the Administrative Law Judge, recommending that Hillsborough County RRF expansion project and its site be granted full and final certification.
