Notice of Meeting/Workshop Hearing

The Bureau of Beaches and Coastal Systems announces a hearing to which all persons are invited.
DATE AND TIME: October 28, 2009, immediately following the workshop held at 7:00 p.m.
PLACE: Martin County Administrative Center, Commission Chambers, 2401 S. E. Monterey Road, Stuart, FL
GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The proposed establishment of an Erosion Control Line (ECL), pursuant to Section 161.161, Florida Statues. This hearing will consider evidence bearing on the location of a proposed ECL for the beach erosion control project known as Bathtub Beach Restoration. This hearing is the public’s opportunity to comment on, speak in support of, object to, and submit for consideration materials relevant to the methodology used for locating the proposed ECL and the location of the proposed ECL. The proposed ECL lies along Bathtub Beach fronting the Atlantic Ocean at the line of mean high water. The ECL lies in Section 8, Township 38 South, Range 42 East. After the Hearing, and if approved by the Board of Trustees the ECL will be recorded in the County’s Book of Plats and will become the boundary between private uplands and sovereign submerged lands owned by the state. The Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund of the State of Florida reserves the right to deny establishment of the ECL.
