NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on October 09, 2009, the Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling, received a petition for Keith B. Vennum, M.D., seeking a variance or waiver of Rule 64B4-2.001, F.A.C., which requires that two years of “clinical experience” consists of at least 1500 hours of providing psychotherapy face-to-face with clients as a registered intern for the profession for which licensure is sought. Petitioner also seeks a waiver of Section 491.005(4)(c), Florida Statutes, which requires that the clinical experience requirement may be met by work performed on or off the premises of the supervising mental health counselor or the equivalent, provided the off-premises work is not the independent private practice rendering of services that does not have a licensed mental health professional, as determined by the Board, on the premises at the same time the intern is providing services.
