ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

The School Board of Pinellas County, Florida will receive sealed bids in the Purchasing Department of the School Board of Pinellas County, Florida 301 – Fourth Street S.W., Largo, Florida 33770-3536 until March 8, 2011, 3:00 p.m. (ET), for the purpose of selecting a Contractor for supplying all labor, material, and ancillary services required for the scope listed below.

BID TITLE: Electrical Renovations

DUE DATE AND TIME: March 8, 2011, 3:00 p.m. (ET)

SCOPE OF PROJECT: This bid will select an “Electrical Contractor” as the Prime, and the “Mechanical Contractor(s)” as Subcontractors. The work shall consist of furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment and supervision required for the following work, this is not inclusive all work to be performed. Specifications are “free of charge” see information in these bid documents.

1.     Demolition of HVAC systems in Buildings #7 and #8. Including mechanical equipment, ductwork, and air devices.

2.     Furnishing and installation on new HVAC systems and controls in buildings #7 and #8.

3.     Demolition and replacement of ceiling systems in buildings #7 and #8.

4.     Demolition and replacement of lighting in buildings #7 and #8.

5.     Removal and reinstallation of ceiling mounted devices in buildings #7 and #8.

6.     Demolition and replacement of air conditioning equipment and controls in building #12.

7.     Included is required labor and materials to adapt existing ductwork to properly mate with the new air conditioning equipment.

8.     Furnishing and installation of new split system DX system for Building #12 F.I.S.H. room number 012.

9.     Demolition of electrical to existing HVAC equipment in buildings #7, #8 and #12.

10.   Furnishing and installation of new electrical services to new HVAC equipment in buildings #7, #8 and #12.

11.   Furnishing and installation of a prefabricated building to house new electrical gear.

12.   Demolition and replacement of selective electrical panel boards and switch boards throughout the campus.

13.   Demolition of selective distribution feeders throughout the campus.

14.   Furnishing and installation of new distribution feeders throughout the campus.

15.   Installation of new owner furnished electrical panels transformers throughout the campus.

16.   Furnishing and installation of new roof hatch and ladder to roof along required safety measures on roof in building #8.

17.   Furnishing and installation exterior steel stair to roof along with required safety measures on roof at building #7.

BID AND PERFORMANCE SECURITY: Bid and Performance Security is required with this bid.

PRE-BID CONFERENCE: A pre-bid conference will be held at the Main Offices of: Skyview Elementary School, 8601 – 60th Street North, Pinellas Park, FL 33782, February 15, 2011, 9:00 a.m. (Sign-in at the front desk, and you will escorted to the pre-bid room for the “official” sign-in). Attendance at this pre-bid conference is MANDATORY in order for all potential bidders to receive the benefit of answers to theirs and other’s technical questions first hand. If you are not the prime bidder but are attending on behalf of someone else, please make note of this when signing the attendance roster where indicated. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, but it is imperative that all information be disseminated in a public forum with all potential bidders present to minimize confusion or misunderstandings. Additions or changes to the original bid documents resulting from this conference of a material nature, will be documented in the form of written addenda and distributed to all attendees. Please note that if you are late to this mandatory pre-bid conference you will not be eligible to sign the attendance roster and therefore may not submit a bid. You may still, however, attend the conference if you wish.
