Local Instructional Improvement Systems (Repealed)

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this new rule is to incorporate by reference, the minimum standards for the Local Instructional Improvement Systems (LIIS) that each school district, will implement by June 30, 2014. These standards are necessary to meet requirements for the Race to the Top Grant and Section 1006.281, Florida Statutes. The effect of this rule is to require school districts to meet the minimum standards so the LIIS meets stakeholder needs for access to and use of data to inform instruction in the classroom, operations at the school, school district, and research.

SUMMARY:

This rule is required by Section 1006.281, Florida Statutes, to adopt the minimum LIIS standards. Each school district will be required to develop and implement an LIIS consistent with the Department’s minimum standards by June 30, 2014. School districts will also need to submit annual information to demonstrate compliance with standards.
