Control of Contraband

PURPOSE:

The purpose and effect of the proposed rule is to allow certain employees to bring a handgun onto institutional grounds in their personal vehicles provided that certain conditions regarding the vehicle and storing of the handgun are met.  The rule also allows members of institutional pistol teams to remove their handguns from their vehicles under certain circumstances.

SUMMARY:

The proposed rule allows certain employees to bring a handgun onto institutional grounds in their personal vehicles provided that certain conditions are met and allows certain employees to remove their handguns from their vehicles for a specific purpose.
