68B-20.003

Spearing, Statewide Regulation; Prohibition Against Powerheads, Bangsticks, and Rebreathers; Repeal of Certain Special Acts

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this rule development is to repeal the prohibition on spearfishing in state waters off Collier County.  The Collier County Board of Commissioners requested the FWC repeal the existing county-wide ban.  The effect of this amendment would be to allow spearfishing in waters off Collier County in accordance with existing statewide spearfishing regulation

SUBJECT:

Subject areas to be addressed in the rule development notice include the use of spears in marine waters off Collier County.
