RULE:

62-40.210	Definitions

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the rulemaking effort is to provide additional guidance and increase consistency among the water management districts in carrying out regional water supply planning, consumptive use permitting and the implementation of minimum flows and levels pursuant to the direction in Chapter 373, F.S.

SUBJECT:

Rule amendments to Rules 62-40.210 and 62-40. 531, F.A.C. would provide further clarification of the definition of “alternative water supplies” in Ch. 373.019(1), F.S. including when surface water sources are considered alternative water supplies, and guidance on designating “non-traditional” water supplies as alternative water supplies in regional water supply plans. Rule amendments to Rules 62-40.410 and 62-40.520 would provide guidance on designating Water Resource Caution Areas. Amendments to Rule 62-40.410 could clarify when applications are subject to competition pursuant to the provisions of Sec. 373.233, F.S. Amendments to Rule 62-40.473 could provide guidance regarding implementation of minimum flows and levels and associated recovery and prevention strategies.
