Overview



	The State Board of Education announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	September 29, 2014, 9:00 a.m.

PLACE:	Tampa Airport Marriott, 4200 George J. Bean Parkway, Duval Conference Room, Tampa, Florida 33607.

Subject:	The meeting agenda will consist of approval of minutes of the State Board meeting held June 17, 2014 and conference call held August 18, 2014. Updates will be provided by MaryEllen Elia, Superintendent Hillsborough County Schools on behalf of the Florida Association of District School Superintendents and President Jim Henningsen on behalf of the Council of Presidents. Items for consideration include action relating to the following: Amendment to Rule 6A-1.001, District Financial Records; Amendment to Rule 6A-1.004, School District Budget Requirements; Amendment to Rule 6A-1.0071, Fiscal Reporting Dates; Amendment to Rule 6A-1.094221, Alternative Standardized Reading Assessment and Use of Student Portfolio for Good Cause Promotion; Amendment to Rule 6A-1.09441, Requirements for Programs and Courses Which are Funded Through the Florida Education Finance Program and for Which the Student May Earn Credit Toward High School Graduation; Amendment to Rule 6A-2.0010, Educational Facilities; Amendment to Rule 6A-6.0573, Industry Certification Process; Amendment to Rule 6A-6.0574, CAPE Postsecondary Industry Certification Funding List; Amendment to Rule 6A-6.0960, Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program; New Rule 6A-6.0961, Florida Personal Learning Scholarship Accounts Program; New Rule 6A-10.083, Standards Relating to Gross Immorality and Acts of Moral Turpitude; New Rule 6M-4.610, Statewide Provider Contract for the School Readiness Program; Repeal of Rules 6M-8.200, 6M-8.2015 and 6M-8.202, related to the Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program; Amendment to Rule 6M-8.201, Child Enrollment Procedure for the Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Education Program; Amendment to Rule 6M-8.301, Standard Statewide Provider Contract for the VPK Program; New Rule 6M-8.620, Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Pre- and Post-Assessments; and New Rule 6M-9.400, Early Learning Coalition Anti-Fraud Plans. Other items for consideration include: Approval of 2015-16 Education Operating and Fixed Capital Outlay Legislative Budget Request; Adoption of Resolutions Authorizing the Issuance and Sale of Not Exceeding $160,000,000 State of Florida, Full Faith and Credit, State Board of Education Capital Outlay Refunding Bonds, 2014 Series TBD; and Approval of Appointments to the Education Practices Commission (EPC).
