69B-186.010

Unlawful Rebates and Inducements Related to Title Insurance Transactions

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the proposed rule is to identify specific unfair methods of competition and unfair or deceptive acts or practices in the transaction of title insurance that are prohibited under Section 626.9541, F.S. The proposed rule provides agents, agencies and others engaged in title insurance transactions with specific guidance concerning practices regarded as illegal inducements in the marketing of title insurance under Florida law.

SUMMARY:

The proposed rule defines the term “unlawful inducement” and provides examples of acts and practices that are unlawful inducements to the purchase of title insurance under Florida law.
