	The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Fish and Wildlife Research Grants Program announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	December 10, 2015 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm ET

PLACE:	Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Room 252, Koger-Marathon, 2574 Seagate Drive, Tallahassee FL 32301 and the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, Room 2015-A, 100 8th Avenue S.E., St. Petersburg, Florida, 33701. Video conferencing will be used. Interested persons may participate through video conferencing by appearing in person at the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, Room 2015-A, 100 8th Avenue S.E., St. Petersburg, Florida, 33701 or the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Room 252, Koger-Marathon, 2574 Seagate Drive, Tallahassee FL 32301.

Subject:	This is the meeting of the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute Grants Program Committee to evaluate two research proposals. 1) Seagrass Abundance and Productivity in Saint Andrew Bay – this project is to assess human and natural roadblocks to seagrass recovery in Florida Panhandle estuaries (Apalachee Bay and the Suwannee River Estuary) in order to determine the most effective site-specific seagrass restoration strategies for each water body. 2) Sex Determination in Endangered Sturgeon: Using New Technology to Address Critical Uncertainties for Conservation and Recovery – this project is to improve understanding of population structure and effects of stressors on sturgeon stock demographics by using point-of-use (POU) testers for a serum biomarker (called LP9) to assess sex of wild sturgeon.
