PURPOSE:

The purpose and effect of this rulemaking is to amend definitions, amend collection procedures for newborn screening, amend the requirements for newborn screening referral centers, amend the requirements for newborn hearing screenings, provide for reimbursement of newborn screening services, provide eligibility criteria for dietary treatment products, and incorporate forms by reference.
