Overview



	The Department of Health, Community Health Promotion, Florida Coordinating Council for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	May 11, 2017, 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., May 12, 2017, 8:00 a.m. - 12 noon

PLACE:	Sheraton Suites Fort Lauderdale at Cypress Creek, 555 N.W. 62nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33309

Subject:	The Florida Coordinating Council for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (FCCDHH) is mandated by Florida Statute 413.271 to serve as an advisory and coordinating body which recommends policies that address the needs of Florida’s community who are deaf, hard of hearing, late deafened or have combined hearing and vision loss. The purpose of the Quarterly Council Meeting will be to discuss the open seat on the Florida Building Commission, receive presentations and hold a general Council discussion as well as share updates. The presentations are as follows: Thursday, May 11th: Center for Hearing and Communication (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) and a DeafBlind Awareness Activity and Presentations (1:00 pm – 2:15 pm); Friday, May 12th: Deaf Services – a presentation regarding their program at Gulfstream Goodwill Industries (10:15 am – 11:15 am).
