PURPOSE:

This rule chapter implements the department’s authority to regulate slugs and phytophagous snails in a manner that prohibits introduction of unwanted pests and diseases so that viable trade is provided to industry stakeholders. The proposed amendments to this rule chapter clarifies the department’s processes regarding this matter.

SUBJECT:

The proposed rulemaking deletes unnecessary rule text, adopts revised incorporated material, outlines current regulatory activity by the department, and clarifies and updates regulatory expectations of industry stakeholders.
