Overview



	The State Board of Education announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	November 28, 2017, 9:00 a.m.

PLACE:	Lake-Sumter State College, Everett Kelly Convocation Center, Magnolia Room, 9501 U.S. Highway 441, Leesburg, FL 34788.

Subject:	The meeting agenda will consist of approval of minutes of the State Board meetings held October 18, 2017. Updates will be provided by Superintendent Shirley on behalf of the Florida Association of District School Superintendents and President Sidor on behalf of the Council of Presidents. Items for consideration include action relating to the following: Approval of District Turnaround Option Plans for Schools Implementing Year 1 in 2017-18: Bradford County: Bradford Intervention Center; Duval County: Ramona Boulevard Elementary School and Arlington Middle School; Escambia County: Ensley Elementary School, Montclair Elementary School, Myrtle Grove Elementary School, Warrington Elementary School, Reinhardt Holm Elementary School and Global Learning Academy; Amendment to Rule 6A-6.0786, Forms for Charter School Applicants and Sponsors; Amendment to Rule 6A-1.09422, Statewide Standardized Assessment Program Requirements; Amendment to Rule 6A-5.066, Approval of Teacher Preparation Programs; Release of Use Restriction; 407 SW 13th St., Gainesville, Florida; Approval of Appointments to the Education Practices Commission (EPC); Approval of the Florida College System Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO) List and Prioritization Process; Amendment to Rule 6M-4.700, Child Performance Standards for the School Readiness (SR) Program; Amendment to Rule 6M-8.602, Child Performance Standards for the Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Education Program; and Amendment to Rule 6M-8.605, VPK Staff Development Plan For Providers on Probation. Presentations will be provided on Florida College System Textbook and Instructional Materials Report and Homeless and Foster Care.
