RULE:

5J-18.004

Nondestructive Testing of Amusement Rides

PURPOSE:

The purpose of developing changes to this rule is to require nonvisual metal fatigue testing of sealed tubular components on specified claw style amusement rides. Nonvisual testing will help to ensure that the components meet specifications for wall thickness.

SUBJECT:

The proposed rule addresses nonvisual metal fatigue testing requirements for certain components on specified amusement rides. Testing shall be conducted upon initial entry into the state and will follow a 5-year schedule for testing thereafter.
