	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Thursday, May 17, 2018, 5 p.m. to 7.p.m., open house format with no formal presentation.

PLACE:	Veterans Park Recreation Center, 55 Homestead Road South, Lehigh Acres, FL 33936

Subject:	FDOT, District One, is holding an Alternatives Public Meeting for the Able Canal Pathway Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study from Harns Marsh to Joel Boulevard to allow interested persons an opportunity to review the proposed alternatives and express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements to the Able Canal Pathway in Lee County, Florida, Financial Project ID No. 435351-1-22-01. Build Alternatives for the proposed shared-use pathway include one option on the north side of the Able Canal, one option on the south side of the canal, and combination options (“hybrids”) of the north and south alignments. All Build Alternatives include a connection to Harns Marsh, located north of the Able Canal. The purpose of the pathway is to facilitate the use of viable, non-motorized travel options for commuters and recreational users in the Able Canal corridor and within the Lehigh Acres community, by providing connections between nearby residential areas and Lehigh Acres park facilities. The No-Build Alternative will remain a viable alternative throughout the study.

The meeting is developed in compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related statutes. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. §327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016 and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and FDOT.
