PURPOSE:

For rules 64K-1.001, .002, .003, .004 and .007, F.A.C., to provide for revising the requirements for reporting dispensing of controlled substances, to allow employees of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Department of Defense, and Indian Health Services to access certain information pursuant to recently enacted legislation. For rule 64K-1.008, F.A.C., to provide the process for approved entities to connect electronic health recordkeeping systems to the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program system.

SUBJECT:

For rules 64K-1.001, .002, .003, .004 and .007, F.A.C., reporting and query requirements for dispensers and prescribers of controlled substances and access to certain information by employees of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Department of Defense, and Indian Health Services pursuant to recently enacted legislation. For rule 64K-1.008, F.A.C., electronic health recordkeeping system connections.
