	The Florida Department of Transportation announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Wednesday, February 27, 2019, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

PLACE:	Coconut Creek Community Center, 1100 Lyons Road, Coconut Creek, FL 33063

Subject:	Financial Management No.: 436226-1-52-01, 436341-1-52-01, 436341-1-52-02 Project Description: Copans Road Mobility Improvement Project; Sample Road Bus Queue Jump Project Project improvements for Copans Road include widening, resurfacing and restriping the roadway to accommodate 5-foot designated bike lanes and two 11-foot through lanes in each direction, installing curb and gutter, and upgrading and modifying pedestrian curb ramps and crosswalks with handrails, guiderails, and detectable warning pads. Project improvements for Sample Road include the implementation of bus queue jump operations that allow public transit buses to receive traffic signal priority at intersections ahead of other vehicles. This includes installation of Intelligent Transportation System devices such as bus queue jump lane detectors, electronic signs and other devices to implement queue jump operations. In addition, lighting improvements will be added to 19 intersections along Sample Road. Construction for the Copans Road Mobility Improvement Project will begin in March 2019 and is estimated to be completed in summer 2019. The estimated construction cost is $913,300. Construction for the Sample Road Bus Queue Jump Project will begin in March 2019 and is estimated to be completed in fall 2019. The estimated construction cost is $1.9 million. During the informal open house, attendees will have the opportunity to review roadway improvements, construction plans and traffic control plans. FDOT staff and consultant staff members will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.
