6A-4.035

Specialization Requirements for Certification in School Social Work (Grades PK-12) - Specialty Class

PURPOSE:

To provide an additional pathway to certification as a school social worker and to update the requirements for certification.  The effect will be that schools will be able to hire more professionals by creating an additional pathway to become certified as a school social worker.

SUMMARY:

Currently, the rule allows professionals one pathway to earn a certification as a school social worker. The proposed rule will create an additional pathway for professionals to become certified as a school social worker. The rule will provide professional credentials to align with the level of mental health services provided in school.
