69A-37.055

Curriculum Requirements for Training Firefighter Recruits or Firefighters

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the amendment to Rule 69A-37.055, F.A.C., is to update Parts I and II of the curriculum to reflect content changes made by the National Fire Protection Association and to update the total number of hours required for each part of the firefighter training curriculum.  These changes are necessary due to changes to section 633.408, F.S.

SUMMARY:

The proposed rule amendment establishes courses to provide training for career and volunteer firefighters related to cancer and mental health risks within the fire service and updates the total number of hours required for each part of the firefighter training curriculum.
