Overview



	The State Board of Education announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	November 10, 2020, 9:00 a.m.

PLACE:	Miami Arts Studio 6-12 @ Zelda Glazer 15015 SW 24 Street, Miami, Florida 33185.

Subject:	The State Board of Education will be conducting this meeting in accordance with Miami-Dade County’s ordinance regarding the wearing of face coverings and requests that attendees do the same. The meeting agenda will consist of the approval of the September 23, 2020 meeting minutes. Updates on Required Instruction Reporting; Standards Development and Implementation; Progress Monitoring Initiatives. As well as updates by Superintendent Carvalho on behalf of the Florida Association of District School Superintendents; Interim President Montoya on behalf of the Council of Presidents; AAA Scholarship Foundation, Inc.; and a presentation on Rigor Gap. Additional items for consideration include action relating to the following: Review of Turnaround Option Plan for School District of Duval County; New Rule 6A-1.099813, F.A.C. Education Program Improvement Process for Department of Juvenile Justice Programs; Amendment to Rule 6A-1.094124, F.A.C. Required Instruction Reporting and Repeal of Rules 6A-1.094121, F.A.C. Mental and Emotional Health Education, 6A-1.094122, F.A.C. Substance Use and Abuse Health Education, and 6A-1.094123, F.A.C. Child Trafficking Prevention Education; Amendment to Rule 6A-1.001, F.A.C. District Financial Records; Amendment to Rule 6A-1.004, F.A.C. School District Budget Requirements; Amendment to Rule 6A-1.0071, F.A.C. Fiscal Reporting Dates; Repeal of Rule 6A-1.09961, F.A.C. Graduation Requirements for Certain Students with Disabilities; Reappointments to the Education Practices Commission (EPC); New Postsecondary Reciprocal Distance Education Coordinating Council Rule 6N-1.008, F.A.C. Appeals; and Amendment to Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind Rule 6D-12.003, F.A.C. Campus Police Department.
