Subject:	Financial Project I.D Number: 439826-1-52-01 Project Description: State Road (SR) 555 (US 17) at Spirit Lake Road Intersection Improvements Project from south of Spirit Lake Road to north of Spirit Lake Road, Polk County, Florida The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, invites you to attend a public hearing to learn about the proposed intersection improvement project on State Road (SR) 555 (US 17) from south of Spirit Lake Road to north of Spirit Lake Road in Polk County, Florida. The purpose of this project is to reconstruct the existing asphalt pavement with rigid concrete pavement within the limits of the SR 555 (US 17) at Spirit Lake Road intersection. The scope also includes closing an existing median opening, resurfacing, adding sidewalk to connect the Bartow Municipal Airport entrance with Bomber Road, transit pads, new signalization at Spirit Lake Road, signing and pavement marking upgrades and intersection lighting. The public hearing will consist of a hybrid format with combined face-to-face and virtual components. The public is invited to participate in the hearing virtually, or visit the public viewing location. A court reporter will be available to receive comments in a one-on-one setting before and after the formal portion of the hearing. Draft project documents and plans are available for public review from November 4 to December 4, 2020 on the project website, http://swflroads.com/us17/spiritlakerd/, or by contacting Alex Carlson, E.I., at 863-519-2572 or via email at alex.carlson@dot.state.fl.us. FDOT is sending notices to property owners located within at least 300 feet of the SR 555 (US 17) corridor within the project limits, in accordance with Florida Statutes Section 339.155(5)(c). FDOT encourages all interested people to attend and express their views regarding the design.
