Overview



	The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Division of Community Development, announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	November 19, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., Eastern Time.

Subject:	The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) is requesting public comments on its Substantial Amendment to the state of Florida’s Federal Fiscal Year 2019 Action Plan to submit to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to include Community Development Block Grant – Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) Round 3 funding. HUD has allocated $100 million in CDBG-CV funding to the state of Florida to help local governments respond to and recover from COVID-19 and the impacts it has caused. The state of Florida previously amended the FFY 2019 Action Plan to incorporate $79.8 million in CDBG-CV funds. Prior to the receipt of $20.2 million CDBG-CV Round 3 funding from the HUD Office of Community Planning and Development, Florida is required to prepare a formal substantial amendment to the Federal Fiscal Year 2019 Action Plan. DEO is responsible for preparing the Action Plan and soliciting comments from the public regarding the plan and its subsequent amendments. A public hearing will be held on November 19, 2020, to accept public comment on the Small Cities CDBG 2019 Action Plan Substantial Amendment. A five-day comment period will begin on November 16, 2020 and end on November 20, 2020. By November 16, 2020, the Small Cities CDBG 2019 Action Plan Substantial Amendment will be available for viewing on the DEO website at www.floridajobs.org/CDBG-CV. Written comments on the substantial amendment are encouraged.
