Overview



	The Florida Department of Transportation, District One, announces a hearing to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Thursday, March 11, 2021

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to a public hearing for the State Road 31 Project Development and Environment Study, from State Road 78 to County Road 78 (FPID 428917-1), and from County Road 78 to Cook Brown Road (FPID 428917-2) in Lee and Charlotte counties on Thursday, March 11, 2021. The in-person open-house will begin at 5 p.m. The virtual and in-person hearing and testimony portion will begin at 6 p.m. The purpose of this project is to evaluate the potential widening of State Road 31 from State Road 78 to Cook Brown Road. The public hearing is being held to present information about the preferred alternative and engineering and environmental analysis completed to date. The hearing provides the opportunity for the public to offer feedback on the preferred alternative for the official hearing record. The Department has two ways to participate in the public hearing: online through one of the project websites, which have the same information, www.swflroads.com/sr31/bayshorerdtoriverrd (FPID 428917-1) or www.swflroads.com/sr31/cr78tocookbrownrd (FPID 428917-2) or by attending the live event. All hearing materials, including the project video, will be available online one week prior to the live public hearing event. A copy of these materials will also be displayed at the in-person event. You may choose any combination of the options provided to review the materials and to submit your comments. For more information on all options of the upcoming public hearing, visit the project website or contact the project manager (listed below). Project documents will also be available for public viewing from February 18, 2021 to March 25, 2021 at the Florida Department of Transportation Southwest Area Office located at 10041 Daniels Parkway, Fort Myers, Florida 33913 or at the Riverdale Branch Library located at 2421 Buckingham Road, Fort Myers, Florida 33905. They will also be available on the project website. FDOT is sending notices to all property owners, business owners, interested persons and organizations to provide the opportunity to give comments to FDOT regarding this project. While comments about the project are accepted at any time, please send your comments by Thursday, March 25, 2021, to be included in the formal public hearing record. A summary of the hearing comments and responses will be available on the website approximately 30 days following the meeting. FDOT solicits public participation without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status.
