Overview



	The The Florida Department of Transportation, District One announces a hearing to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	October 7, 2021, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

PLACE:	Lakes Church - 1010 E Memorial Blvd, Lakeland, FL 33801

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, will hold a public hearing on the proposed improvements to US 92 (State Road 600) from west of Fish Hatchery Road to east of Reynolds Road, in Polk County, Florida. This resurfacing project entails milling and resurfacing the pavement, and median improvements. Improvements also include upgrades to deficient driveways and intersection improvements at Fish Hatchery Road. The main objective of the project is to resurface the roadway on US 92 between the project limits and to adjust the median access within the project limits. The FDOT’s Adopted Five-Year Work Program currently includes funding in Fiscal Year 2020 for the Design Phase, funding for Railroad & Utilities Phase in 2022, and funding for the Construction Phase in 2023. The typical section for the proposed project consists of a four-lane rural divided highway with 12-foot travel lanes, four-foot paved outside shoulders, a 40-foot median, and open drainage in roadside ditches. This public hearing is being conducted to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements. Project information and graphics showing the project’s location and proposed improvements will be available for public viewing from September 28 to October 18, 2021 at two locations: • Lakeland Public Library, 100 Lake Morton Drive in Lakeland (please call the library at 863-834-4280 for hours of operation). • District One Headquarters, 801 N. This public meeting is advertised consistent with federal and state requirements, Section 335.199, F.S., and developed in compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related statutes.
