Florida Building Code Adopted

PURPOSE:

House Bill 401 (2021), Senate Bill 286 (2021), and Senate Bill 804 (2021) made changes to statutory provisions which are included in the Florida Building Code. In order to reflect these changes, the Florida Building Commission must amend the Code. Additionally, House Bill 401 provides a mechanism for the Commission to issue errata to the Code to list demonstrated errors in its provisions. The Commission has identified a number of errors present in the Code, and intends to issue errata to clearly identify them, pursuant to the provisions of House Bill 401.

SUMMARY:

he proposed amendment will incorporate changes to statutorily-derived building provisions, and issue errata for the Florida Building Code, 7th Edition (2020).
