Overview



	The Florida Department of Transportation District One announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	July 11, 2022, 5 p.m.-7 p.m.

PLACE:	RP Funding Center in the Sikes Hall (J) 701 W. Lime Street, Lakeland, Florida 33815

Subject:	FDOT will hold this meeting to give people the opportunity to review displays and talk one-on-one with staff. The department encourages all interested people to attend and express their opinions regarding the project. In cooperation with the City of Lakeland, FDOT studied current and future traffic and developed an alternative roadway configuration for South Florida Avenue. FDOT conducted this test over the past several years and completed the traffic study in early 2022. The road repurposing consisted of a lane closure of the outside travel lanes for both northbound and southbound directions from Ariana Street to Lime Street. South Florida Avenue was reduced from the five-lane configuration to a three-lane configuration by using a concrete traffic separator to close the outside lanes. The City of Lakeland and FDOT are interested in hearing your feedback and ideas for an ultimate vision for the South Florida Avenue corridor.
