	The Florida Department of Transportation, District One announces a hearing to which all persons are invited.

Subject:	Sarasota County in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to a public hearing for the North Sarasota Multimodal Connector Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Study for a new overpass crossing I-75 between Fruitville Road and University Parkway in the Sarasota County Operations Center on Tuesday, August 16, 2022. The public hearing is being held to present information about the preferred alternative and engineering and environmental analysis completed to date. The hearing provides the opportunity for the public to offer feedback on the preferred alternative for the official hearing record. The purpose of this PD&E study is to identify and evaluate potential impacts that may result from a new east-west four-lane roadway and overpass crossing I-75 between the Fruitville Road interchange and University Parkway interchange. The proposed improvements would enhance access to destinations east and west of I-75 to provide traffic relief and would connect existing shared use trails and enhance bicycle and pedestrian safety. As part of the project, Sarasota County and FDOT are proposing improvements requiring additional Right-of-Way, and requiring impacts and mitigation for Section 4(f) resource, Nathan Benderson Park. Sarasota County is seeking comments concerning the effects of the project on park activities, features, and attributes. The Department has three ways to participate in the public hearing: through the live online virtual event on August 16, 2022, at 5 p.m. at https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/4970885896331181835 (please register in advance), by attending the in-person event at the Sarasota County Operations Center, 1001 Sarasota Center Boulevard, Sarasota, Florida 34240, or by viewing the materials online through the project website https://www.northsarasotamultimodalconnector.com. All hearing materials, including the project video, will be available online by August 9, 2022. You may choose any combination of the options provided to review the materials. Comments can be provided during the hearing event or through the project website. All comments must be submitted by August 30, 2022, to be included in the formal hearing record. Project documents will also be available for public viewing from July 26 to August 30, 2022, at Fruitville Public Library, 100 Apex Road, Sarasota, FL 34240 and Sarasota County Operation Center, 1001 Sarasota Center Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34240. They will also be available on the project website. Sarasota County is sending the attached notice to all property owners and tenants within at least 300 feet on either side of the project and to other public officials, regulatory agencies, organizations, and individuals interested in the project.
