	The Florida Department of Transportation, District One announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Tuesday, October 18, 2022. The in-person open house will begin at 5:00 p.m. and end at 7:00 p.m. The virtual meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. and end at 7:00 p.m.

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to a public meeting for the State Road (SR) 33 (Lakeland Hills Blvd.) from Parkview Place to north of Granada Street project on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. The in-person open house will begin at 5:00 p.m. The virtual meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. This project consists of complete reconstruction of the existing roadway and drainage system. The reconstruction will include a raised median from Parkview Place to north of Miami Street and a bi-directional left turn lane from north of Miami Street to north of Granada Street. A mid-block pedestrian crossing with Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) will be constructed south of Channing Road and a mid-block pedestrian crossing with Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB) will be added north of Swannanoa Street. Additional improvements include replacing existing sidewalks with 8-foot sidewalks, providing upgrades in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and driveway, lighting, traffic signal, and drainage improvements. The meeting is being held to present project information and provide an opportunity for the public to offer feedback. FDOT will accept written comments during and after the meeting. Comments submitted after the meeting may be sent to Phil Menke, Florida Department of Transportation, 801 North Broadway Avenue, Bartow, FL 33830, or emailed to Philip.Menke@dot.state.fl.us. The Department has three ways to participate in the public meeting: online through the live virtual event from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. by registering at fdot.cc/SR33_Lakeland-Hills-Blvd; by attending the live in-person event from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Lake Crago Outdoor Recreation Complex, 525 Lake Crago Drive, Lakeland, FL 33805; or by viewing the materials online through the project website at swflroads.com/project/440444-1. All meeting materials will be available online by October 11, 2022. A copy of these materials will also be displayed at the in-person event. You may choose any combination of the options provided to review the materials and to submit your comments. For more information on all options to attend the upcoming public meeting, visit the project website or contact the project representative (listed below). FDOT is sending notices to all property owners and tenants within at least 300 feet on either side of the project and to public officials, regulatory agencies, organizations, and individuals interested in the project. FDOT encourages all interested people to attend and express their views regarding the project and information presented. While comments about the project are accepted at any time, please send your comments by October 28, 2022, to be included in the formal public meeting record. FDOT solicits public participation without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status.
