	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announces a hearing to which all persons are invited.

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a hybrid public hearing concerning the Pine Forest Road Project Development & Environment study from south of Interstate 10 (I-10) to north of County Road 297A. The public hearing will begin with an informal open house at 5:30 p.m.to 6 p.m. (CST), followed by a formal presentation and public comment period. 5:30 p.m. Informal Open House 6:00 p.m. Formal Presentation, Comment Period Virtual (Online): Access via computer, tablet, smartphone. The hearing is being held to give interested persons an opportunity to review the results of the study and to provide input on proposed improvements. Maps, drawings and other study information will be available for review online at noon, Nov. 17, 2022 at www.nwflroads.com/virtualmeetings. The intent of this study is to evaluate adding capacity on Pine Forest Road by widening the existing three-lane rural roadway for approximately 1.36 miles, excluding the limits of the I-10 Interchange at Pine Forest Road, which was studied under FPID 437905-1. Improvements along Pine Forest Road include widening to six lanes from Pine Forest Drive to South of I-10. North of I-10, Pine Forest Road will be widened to four lanes. Curb and gutter will be installed, along with a 10-foot shared use path and a 6-foot sidewalk. Chellie Road will be widened to 11-foot lanes with curb and gutter. Pine Forest Drive will be extended to the west to connect to Chellie Road and will follow the same typical section. Additional improvements include the installation of a signalized intersection at Pine Forest Drive, signalized median U-turns along Nine Mile Road, and construction of a roundabout at CR 297A. Right of way acquisition and construction are not funded at this time. In accordance with Section 335.188, Florida Statutes, this public hearing is also being held to provide the opportunity for public comment on the proposed access management reclassification for Pine Forest Road from north of I-10 to north of County Road 297A from Access Class 6 to Access Class 5 due to proposed changes from a non-restrictive to a restrictive median. Potential impacts to floodplains and wetlands will be disclosed at the hearing. Persons wishing to submit written or verbal comments may do so at the hearing or may contact the FDOT Project Manager using the information provided below. All statements provided, or postmarked, on or before Tuesday, December 27, 2022 will become a part of the official record.
