Overview

RULE:

68A-12.002

General Methods of Taking Game and Crows; Prohibitions

PURPOSE:

The proposed rule amendment seeks to clarify the regulations regarding allowable methods of take during archery season. This change is consistent with the definition of the term “bow” set forth in the proposed amendment of Rule 68A-1.004. The effect of the proposed rule amendment will be to keep current methods of take during archery season in place while simplifying general definitions for archery equipment.

SUMMARY:

The proposed rule amendment prohibits the take of game during archery season by use of a bow equipped with a device that can mechanically hold the bowstring in the drawn (ready-to-fire) position (except release devices that are hand-held). The proposed rule amendment also includes a non-substantive, technical change.
