Overview



	The Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

PLACE:	Virtual/Phone via Zoom

Subject:	The Northeast Corridor is one of the five rapid transit corridors of the Strategic Miami Area Rapid Transit (SMART) Program. A Draft Documented Categorical Exclusion (Draft DCE) for the Northeast Corridor is being prepared to satisfy the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). This 13.5-mile-long corridor will run from MiamiCentral station in downtown Miami to the City of Aventura along the existing Florida East Coast (FEC) railway line. As part of this project, five new commuter rail stations and their associated park-and-ride/mobility hub sites are planned along the FEC Railway. Also, a train vehicle maintenance facility is planned at an existing rail yard in Hialeah. At the meeting, DTPW will present its plan to evaluate the environmental effects of the Commuter Rail Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA) that was unanimously selected by the Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) in 2021.
