Overview



	The Florida Department of Transportation, District One announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Thursday, February 23, 2023, attend anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. (in-person) and Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 6-7 p.m. (virtual)

PLACE:	In-person at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 401 South Broadway, Englewood, FL 34223, or virtually, from a computer, tablet, or mobile device, please register in advance by visiting https://tinyurl.com/SR776CLTW or register on the project website (https://www.swflroads.com/project/447882-1). Once registered, attendees will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting online. The same material will be covered in the online public meeting and will include a live question-and-answer component.

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, invites you to the public meeting for the proposed median improvements along State Road (SR) 776 from Charlotte County Line to Tangerine Woods Boulevard, FPID 447882-1. The purpose of this project is to provide access management improvements along SR 776 with the intent of enhancing traffic flow and reducing crashes. Changes include converting the two-way left turn lanes along SR 776 to full median and directional turn lanes. Signing and pavement markings will be updated as well. This public meeting is being held to present information about the proposed design and gather public input. You can participate in the public meeting online or in-person. The same material will be displayed at both the in-person and online meetings, and will be posted on the project website (https://www.swflroads.com/project/447882-1) by February 14, 2023. IN-PERSON OPTION: The in-person public workshop will be held on February 23, 2023, at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 401 South Broadway, Englewood, FL 34223. The in-person meeting will be in an “open house” format from 5-7 p.m. LIVE-ONLINE OPTION: Attend virtually on February 28, 2023 from 6 - 7 p.m. The same material will be covered in the online public meeting and will include a live question-and-answer component. Once registered, attendees will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting online. Please note, Internet Explorer cannot be used to register or attend this GoTo Webinar. You may choose any combination of the options provided to review the materials and to submit your comments. Questions can be answered by calling the FDOT project manager, Chris Speese at (239) 225-1973. The FDOT is sending notices to property owners, business owners, interested persons and organizations roughly within 300 feet of the project and to provide the opportunity to give comments to the FDOT regarding this project. After reviewing the public workshop materials, and/or participating, you may submit comments in three different ways: 1) on the project website; 2) emailing the FDOT Project Manager Chris Speese at Christopher.Speese@dot.state.fl.us; or 3) mailing comments to Chris Speese at FDOT District One Southwest Area Office, 10041 Daniels Parkway, Fort Myers, FL 33913. While comments about the project are accepted at any time, please note that comments must be received or postmarked by March 14, 2023, to be included in the formal public workshop record. A summary of the workshop comments and responses will be available on the website approximately 30 days following the close of the comment period. FDOT solicits public participation without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022, and executed by FHWA and FDOT.
