RULE:

68A-27.003

Florida Endangered and Threatened Species List; Prohibitions

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this rulemaking is to incorporate into rule by reference the updated Commission-approved Gopher Tortoise Permitting Guidelines. The effect of this rule revision is to update the effective date, hyperlinks, and references to the Commission-approved Gopher Tortoise Permitting Guidelines.

SUMMARY:

The proposed rule changes incorporate the Gopher Tortoise Permitting Guidelines in rule by reference. The Guidelines provide information on ways to avoid take of gopher tortoises, what authorizations are needed to mark, transport, and release tortoises, and provide guidance on what types of permits are needed for specific activities. At the November 30, 2022 meeting, the Commission reviewed and approved updated guidelines for the gopher tortoise. The intent of this rule revision is to update the link to the Commission-approved guidelines by reference and provide hyperlinks.
