Overview



	The Department of Transportation District 2 announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	May 2, 2023, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

PLACE:	In person: Thomas Center, Building A, 302 NE 6th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601; online at nflroads.com/vph; or by phone at (415) 655-0060, access code 470-896-211.

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a hybrid public meeting to discuss proposed lane repurposing of NW 8th Avenue (State Road 20) between NW 6th Street and North Main Street in Gainesville. FDOT and the City of Gainesville propose to eliminate a single eastbound lane and single westbound lane of NW 8th Avenue and add a 7 foot buffered bicycle lane in both directions throughout the project limits. An informal open house will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by a formal presentation and public comment period at 6 p.m. Both virtual and in-person participants will be given equal opportunity to ask questions and make oral statements that will become part of the public hearing record. Persons who wish to submit written statements or other exhibits may do so prior to or during the hearing in the comments section at nflroads.com/VPH. Citizens may also submit questions, statements and other exhibits by sending them to Debbie Leistner, via email at leistnerdl@gainesvillefl.gov or traditional mail at 34 SE 13th Road, Gainesville 32601, or at nflroads.com/vph. All exhibits or statements postmarked on or before May 13, 2023, will become part of the public hearing record.
