Florida School Counseling Standards

PURPOSE:

To establish standards for school counseling in Florida’s public schools.

SUMMARY:

House Bill 1557 from the 2022 Legislative Session (Chapter 2022-22, Section 2, Laws of Florida) requires the Florida Department of Education to review and update, as necessary, school counseling frameworks and standards. The rule sets forth seven standards for persons who serve as school counselors in Florida public schools.
