Overview



	The Florida Department of Transportation, District One announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	May 9, 2023 5:00 PM_to 7:00 PM

PLACE:	www.swflroads.com and Fort Meade First Church of God, located at 215 South Perry Avenue, Fort Meade, FL 33841

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to a public hearing for the SR 35 (US17) from 9th Street NW to North of Oak Hammock Loop in Polk on May 9, 2023. The in-person open-house will begin at 6:00 PM. The virtual portion will begin at 5:00 PM. The purpose of this project is to improve the longevity of the pavement and also improve the safety along the corridor. The public hearing is being held to present information about the preferred alternative and engineering and environmental analysis completed to date. The hearing provides the opportunity for the public to offer feedback on the preferred alternative for the official hearing record. The Department has three ways to participate in the public hearing: through the live virtual event on May 9, 2023 at 5:00 PM (www.swflroads.com), by attending the in-person event at Fort Meade First Church of God, located at 215 South Perry Avenue, Fort Meade, FL 33841 on May 9, 2023 at 6:00 PM, or by viewing the materials online through the project website www.swflroads.com. All hearing materials, including the project video, will be available online April 21, 2023 prior to the live virtual event. A copy of the materials will also be displayed at the in-person event. You may choose any combination of the options provided to review the materials and to submit your comments. For more information on all options of the upcoming public hearing, visit the project website or contact the project manager (listed below). Project documents will also be available for public viewing on May 9, 2023, at Fort Meade First Church of God, located at 215 South Perry Avenue, Fort Meade, FL 33841. They will also be available on the project website. FDOT is sending notices to all property owners, business owners, interested persons and organizations to provide the opportunity to give comments to FDOT regarding this project. While comments about the project are accepted at any time, please send your comments by May 23, 2023, to be included in the formal public hearing record. A summary of the hearing comments and responses will be available on the website approximately 30 days following the hearing.
