Florida Building Code Adopted

PURPOSE:

The Florida Department of Health regulates the operation of commercial swimming pools, and has updated its rules to allow for the operation of swim-up pool bars. The construction requirements for commercial swimming pools are contained in the Florida Building Code, and in their current form would not allow swim-up pool bars to be built. The proposed changes to the Florida Building Code will bring it into alignment with the updated Department of Health rule provisions and allow for the construction of swim-up pool bars.

SUMMARY:

The proposed amendments will update the Code to provide for the construction of swim-up pool bars.
