PURPOSE:

The purpose of the rules is to establish designated anchoring limitation areas within Monroe County and maximum vessel draft therein as required by section 327.4108, F.S. By establishing anchoring limitation areas, vessel owners and operators will be guided and informed as to permissible anchoring upon the waters of Monroe County and as to enforcement thereof.

SUMMARY:

The proposed rules establish designated anchoring limitation areas on the waters of Monroe County as required by section 327.4108, F.S.  The rules set forth the maximum vessel draft for each designated anchoring limitation area and set forth the manner of enforcement.
