	The Florida Department of Transportation, District One announces a hearing to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Thursday, July 27, 2023 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to a public hearing for the SR 739 (Metro Parkway) at Daniels Parkway Intersection Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Re-evaluation (FPID 431334-2) in Lee County on Thursday, July 27, 2023. FDOT is preparing final design plans for this project. FDOT previously conducted a PD&E Study to evaluate and document the benefits, costs, and impacts of modifying the intersection configuration at SR 739 (Metro Parkway) and Daniels Parkway to address capacity needs based on projected travel demand generated by future population and economic growth. The PD&E Study (FPID 195650-1-21-01) was approved by the Office of Environmental Management as a Type 2 Categorical Exclusion (CE) on February 11, 1999. The current design has changed from that prepared during the PD&E Study which has resulted in changes to proposed right-of-way impacts. The public hearing is being held to present information about the changes in design which includes the re-evaluation of the engineering and environmental analysis completed to date and to provide the opportunity for the public to offer feedback for the official hearing record. The Department has three ways to participate in the public hearing: 1) By attending the in-person event on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the FDOT District One Southwest Area Office 10041 Daniels Parkway Fort Myers, Florida 33913. The in-person option will have an open house from 5 - 6 p.m. before the formal hearing at 6 p.m., 2) through the live online event starting at 6 p.m. with an overview for how to submit comments at 5:45 p.m. at https://tinyurl.com/MetroParkway, or 3) by viewing the materials online through the project webpage https://www.swflroads.com/project/431334-2. All hearing materials, including the project video, will be available online by July 19, 2023. You may choose any combination of the options provided to review the materials. Comments can be provided during the hearing event or through the project webpage. All comments must be submitted by August 10, 2023, to be included in the formal hearing record. Project documents will also be available for public viewing from July 6, 2023 to July 27, 2023, at Lee County Sheriff’s Office 14750 6 Mile Cypress Pkwy, Fort Myers, FL 33912 and FDOT District One Southwest Area Office 10041 Daniels Parkway Fort Myers, FL 33913. They will also be available on the project webpage. FDOT is sending the attached notice to all property owners and tenants within at least 300 feet on either side of the project and to other public officials, regulatory agencies, organizations, and individuals interested in the project. In accordance with Rule 14-97 of the Florida Administrative Code, the proposed improvements will include driveway and side street closures to control the movements, or access, of turning traffic. These changes are presented in compliance with Section 335.199 Florida Statutes (Transportation projects modifying access to adjacent property). The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. §327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022 and executed by FHWA and FDOT
