Overview



	The Florida Department of Commerce (FloridaCommerce) announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	August 3, 2023, at 5:30 p.m.

PLACE:	Seminole County Board of County Commissioners, 1101 East 1st Street, Sanford, FL 32771

Subject:	FloridaCommerce is hosting this public hearing to provide more information and an opportunity for public comments on the state of Florida’s Draft Hurricane Ian State Action Plan. The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced that the State of Florida will receive $910,624,000 in funding to support long-term resiliency efforts following Hurricane Ian. Community Development Block Disaster Grant funding is designed to address needs that remain after all other assistance has been exhausted. The Florida Department of Commerce posted an initial draft of the Hurricane Ian State Action Plan for Disaster Recovery on www.FloridaJobs.org/Hurricane-Ian on July 12, 2023, along with instructions for submitting public comments. The State Action Plan provides a high-level strategy for how the funding will be used to address unmet recovery and resiliency needs following disasters. FloridaCommerce is leading the state’s efforts to create the Action Plan, which is developed with input from community members, community leaders, and community-based organizations, to best address the outstanding unmet needs of the state of Florida. After the public comment period concludes on August 12, 2023, FloridaCommerce will address public comments and submit the action plan to HUD for review and approval.
