The Commission for Independent Education announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

September 5, 2023 – 2:30 -p.m. - 3:30 p.m.  – Rules Committee Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss changes for private postsecondary institutions licensed by the Commission for Independent Education and institutions not under the jurisdiction or purview of the Commission, as identified in s. 1005.06 (1)(b)-(f), Florida Statutes, as a result of legislative changes found in HB1537 (Ch.2023-39, Sections 10-14, Laws of Florida) and HB1521 (Ch.2023-106, Laws of Florida).

To review, comment, and vote on the draft rule language for:

b.	6E-1.003, F.A.C – DEFINITION OF TERMS
c.	6E-1.0032, F.A.C. – FAIR CONSUMER PRACTICES
d.	6E-4.001, F.A.C. – FEES AND EXPENSES
e.	6E-7.001, F.A.C. – DESIGNATION OF RESTROOMS & CHANGING FACILITIES IN PRIVATE POSTSECONDARY EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES.

Public Comment:  The Commission is committed to promoting transparency and public input during its public meetings.  Speakers are requested to submit a written comment by emailing Executive Director, Tiffany Hurst, at Susan.Hood@fldoe.org one (1) business day before the meeting and to indicate whether they represent a group or faction.  The Commission will hear public comment only regarding issues on the agenda.  Individuals and representatives of groups will generally be allotted three minutes, but the time may be extended or shortened at the discretion of the Chair.  The Chair may impose a cumulative time limit for all public comment on any agenda item.
